Wuling and CATL Deepen Full-Spectrum Collaboration

[Strategic Partnership] Wuling and CATL have signed an all-scenario ecosystem cooperation agreement.

Core Development: Over 15 models to be fully equipped with CATL batteries

The collaboration will cover SAIC-GM-Wuling’s entire lineup of new energy vehicles, with CATL becoming its core power battery supplier. The first co-developed model, the Hua Jing S, is already equipped with CATL’s high-power battery, enhancing the intelligent mobility experience.

Key Metrics: 3,000 battery swap stations to be deployed by year-end; 10-minute fast charging target

CATL plans to build more than 3,000 battery swap stations by the end of 2026, compatible with batteries ranging from 42 to 56 kWh, supporting microcars, passenger vehicles, and logistics vehicles. Both parties are jointly developing fast-charging technology, aiming to reduce charging time from 10% to 80% state of charge to under 10 minutes.

Strategic Foundation: Upgrading from a supplier relationship to ecosystem synergy

The partnership encompasses integration into battery-swapping networks, cost reduction through vehicle-battery separation, joint global expansion, and new applications such as autonomous vehicles. Leveraging Wuling’s large-scale vehicle deployment, CATL will accelerate its battery-swapping infrastructure rollout, while Wuling addresses its energy replenishment limitations.
