CATL Unveils Multiple New Battery Platforms and Charging Network

[Technological Breakthrough] At its 2026 Super Tech Day, CATL launched four new battery series—Shenxing, Qilin, Xiaoyao, and Na-Xin—and initiated an integrated ultra-fast charging and battery swap energy replenishment network.

Core Development: 6-Minute Full Charge Sets New Global Fast-Charging Record

The third-generation Shenxing ultra-fast-charging battery achieves a state of charge (SOC) from 10% to 98% in just 6 minutes and 27 seconds, equivalent to a 10C rate with a peak of 15C. In extreme cold conditions at -30°C, it charges from 20% to 98% in approximately 9 minutes, maintaining over 90% capacity retention after 1,000 cycles.

Strategic Foundation: Multi-Chemistry Synergy as the Core Growth Path

Chief Scientist Wu Kai emphasized that LFP (lithium iron phosphate) technology is approaching its theoretical limits, with current efforts focused on optimizing ultra-fast charging performance; ternary materials are being developed for higher energy density; and sodium-ion batteries will enter mass production in Q4, targeting applications in extreme cold, high-temperature environments, and energy storage.

Key Metrics: Qilin Battery Achieves 280 Wh/kg Energy Density

The third-generation Qilin battery delivers an energy density of 280 Wh/kg, enabling a 1,000-kilometer range and supporting 10C ultra-fast charging, with a total pack weight of only 625 kg. A semi-solid-state (condensed-phase) variant has also been introduced to strengthen CATL’s position in the premium market.
