XPeng Motors Renamed XPeng Group to Reflect Expansion into AI, Robotics, and New Energy

[Corporate Strategy] XPeng Motors has officially been renamed XPeng Group, marking its strategic focus on the integration of new energy and intelligent agents for the next decade.

Core Development: Expanding Business Boundaries from 'Motors' to 'Group'

At a media briefing on April 2, He Xiaopeng addressed the name change for the first time, explaining that the past decade centered on smart electric vehicles, but the coming ten years will usher in a new phase defined by the convergence of new energy and intelligent agents. He stated that the term "Motors" no longer encompasses the company's full scope of operations; thus, while retaining the "XPeng" brand, the word "Motors" has been dropped.

Strategic Foundation: Betting on the Accelerated Arrival of the Physical AI and Robotics Era

The company has already expanded into diverse businesses including flying cars, Turing AI chips, VLA autonomous driving models, humanoid robot IRON, and Robotaxi. He Xiaopeng acknowledged that breakthroughs in physical AI foundation models have significantly advanced his timeline for the commercialization of L5 autonomous driving and robotics, asserting that "L5 autonomy could realistically happen within ten years."
