Strategic New Materials Platform Launched to Drive Material Innovation in EVs

[Industry Collaboration] The Strategic New Materials Innovation and Application Platform was officially established on April 12, jointly initiated by the China EV100 Innovation Center along with nearly 30 automakers, component suppliers, and materials companies.

Key Development: Material Innovation Driving Automotive Quality Enhancement and Upgrading

The platform focuses on the application of new materials in intelligent electric vehicles, aligning with the national strategic deployment under the "15th Five-Year Plan" that designates new materials as one of the eight strategic emerging industries. Leading automakers including Geely, SAIC, Dongfeng, BYD, and Li Auto, as well as global materials giants such as PPG, Dow Chemical, and Covestro, are all participating in its co-construction.

Strategic Foundation: Integrating the Full Industry-Academia-Research-Application Chain

By consolidating upstream and downstream resources, the platform aims to accelerate the transition of new materials from R&D to mass production, enhancing the Chinese automotive industry's influence and technological resilience within the global supply chain.
