Seres Launches New Brand 'Serdoo' Targeting the Youth Market

[New Brand Launch] Seres has partnered with ByteDance to unveil a new brand, 'Serdoo Technology,' targeting the youth market in the RMB 100,000–200,000 price segment.

Core Developments: Dual-track Strategy of BEV and Range-extended EVs, Official Debut in June

Serdoo Technology, formerly known as Landian Technology, completed its business registration change on May 29, increasing its registered capital from RMB 320 million to RMB 971 million. Its first crossover model is scheduled for launch within 2026, offering both battery electric (BEV) and range-extended electric (EREV) powertrain options, and will be manufactured at the Seres Phoenix Plant.

Strategic Foundation: Divesting Inefficient Assets and Restructuring Equity

Through the introduction of five new investors, including Shaci Zhiyuan, Serdoo has secured a capital injection of RMB 6.671 billion. Local state-owned capital now holds 34.5%, becoming the largest shareholder, while Seres’ stake has decreased to 32.96%, placing it second—effectively removing loss-making assets from its balance sheet.

Industry Impact: Moving Beyond Huawei’s Narrative, Integrating into ByteDance’s Ecosystem

The new vehicle’s intelligent driving system will not adopt Huawei’s Qiankun solution; instead, it will feature an intelligent cockpit powered by Volcano Engine and the Doubao large language model, marking Seres’ first strategic departure from Huawei’s core technology ecosystem.
