RoboSense's Robot LiDAR Shipments Surpass Automotive for the First Time
[Market Update] In Q1, RoboSense’s robot LiDAR shipments accounted for 56.2% of total LiDAR volume, surpassing automotive applications for the first time.
Core Development: Robots Emerge as the Primary Growth Driver
RoboSense reported Q1 2026 revenue of RMB 459 million, up 39.9% year-over-year. Total LiDAR shipments reached 330,300 units, of which 185,500 were shipped to the robotics sector—an explosive 1,458.8% year-over-year increase—lifting its share to 56.2%.
Key Metrics: Gross Margin Under Pressure Despite Strong Order Backlog
Due to initial mass production costs of the new EMX product line, overall gross margin declined to 21.7% (from 23.5% a year earlier). The company has secured定点 (nomination) from 36 OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers across 177 vehicle models, with 69 already in SOP (Start of Production).
Strategic Foundation: Betting on High-Margin Robotics Segment
Management has explicitly prioritized robotics as a strategic focus. Leveraging in-house developed chips and ramping production capacity, RoboSense is accelerating penetration into diverse applications such as robotic lawn mowers and humanoid robots, serving over 3,400 global customers.
