NIO Battery Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was officially established on February 26, 2026, with a registered capital of RMB 100 million. It is wholly owned by Shanghai NIO Automotive Co., Ltd., and its legal representative is Zeng Shizhe, currently Vice President of NIO’s Battery Systems, who brings over 18 years of experience in the battery industry.

The new company's business scope includes battery sales, specialized electronic materials, and artificial intelligence application software development, positioning it primarily toward R&D and trading. In contrast, NIO Battery Technology (Anhui), established in 2022, focuses on manufacturing, forming a synergistic structure of “Shanghai R&D + Anhui Manufacturing.”
