Nationwide Charging Infrastructure Surpasses 20 Million Ports
[Infrastructure] The total number of charging facilities nationwide has exceeded 20 million, with private chargers surging but gaps remaining in fast-charging availability and rural coverage.
Key Trends: Private Chargers Surge by 82%, Public Chargers Accelerate Upgrades
Private charging infrastructure reached 15.375 million units, a year-over-year increase of 82%; public charging ports totaled 4.717 million, up 31.9% year-over-year. In 2025, the ratio of newly added charging points to new electric vehicles improved to 1:1.9, continuously reducing the difficulty of finding a charger.
Key Metrics: Fast-Charging Power Up 33%, Highway Coverage Exceeds 98%
The average power output of public charging piles nationwide reached 46.53 kW, representing a 33% year-over-year improvement in charging efficiency; over 98% of highway service areas are now equipped with charging stations. The number of high-power (>250 kW) charging ports has surpassed 200,000.
Strategic Foundation: Rapid Construction Growth Amid Regional Imbalances
The national count of charging ports doubled from 10 million to 20 million in just 18 months, yet deployment in rural and remote regions still lags significantly. Battery swap station growth (16%) remains far below the overall expansion pace of the charging network.
