Industry Impact: Li Auto, XPeng, Xiaomi, and Others Follow Suit with Diversified Sourcing
Automakers are accelerating the diversification of their battery supply chains, primarily driven by intensifying price competition in the consumer market and increasing homogenization of traction battery technologies. Battery costs account for 30%–40% of total vehicle costs; multi-sourcing enables internal benchmark pricing mechanisms, significantly reducing procurement expenses and supporting faster vehicle iteration cycles.
