[Infrastructure] The total number of electric vehicle charging facilities (charging points) across the country has reached 21.481 million, a year-over-year surge of 46.9%.

Key Data: Public and Private Facilities Grow Rapidly in Tandem

As of the end of March 2026, China’s total number of EV charging infrastructure units (charging points) stood at 21.481 million, up 46.9% year-over-year. This includes 4.863 million public charging facilities (+28.1%) with a rated total power capacity of 234 million kilowatts, and 16.618 million private charging facilities (+53.5%) with an installed power capacity of 147 million kVA.

Strategic Foundation: Policy-Driven Acceleration of Deployment

Since the six ministries jointly issued the "Three-Year Doubling Action Plan for Charging Infrastructure Service Capacity" in October 2025, construction has significantly accelerated—reaching from 10 million to 20 million units in just 18 months. The plan targets the deployment of 28 million charging facilities by the end of 2027, supporting a total power demand exceeding 300 million kilowatts.
