China-ASEAN Jointly Establishes AI Industry Innovation Center
[International Cooperation] The China-ASEAN Artificial Intelligence Industry Innovation Center was officially inaugurated in Beijing on May 24, 2026.
Core Development: Building a Multilateral AI Cooperation Platform for ASEAN
Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology Ke Jixin and ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn attended the inauguration ceremony. The center was established under the framework of the China-ASEAN Digital Ministers' Meeting, aiming to implement the "China-ASEAN Digital Cooperation Plan 2026" and the "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Action Plan (2026–2030)."
Strategic Foundation: Focusing on Four Key Cooperation Areas
The center will prioritize advancing next-generation AI technologies, such as large models, in industrial applications; establish industry dialogue mechanisms to promote bilateral and multilateral trade and investment; jointly develop governance tools and standards; and foster a cross-border AI cooperation ecosystem to strengthen regional industrial complementarity and competitive advantages.
