CATL Distributes 2025 Annual Bonuses: Performance-Based Payouts Reach Up to 9 Months’ Salary

[Compensation & Incentives] CATL distributed its 2025 annual bonuses on April 28, with the highest awards exceeding eight months' salary.

Core Policy: Bonuses Tied to Both Performance and Job Grade, with a Minimum of One Month for Entry-Level Staff

Employees at JG1–2 levels uniformly received one month’s base salary. Employees at JG3 and above received bonuses determined by a comprehensive evaluation of individual, departmental, and company-wide performance. Those rated Grade A typically received bonuses equivalent to 8–9 months’ salary, while Grade B employees generally received 3–6 months’ salary. Employees rated Grade C or D received no year-end bonus.

Key Data: Employees Across Multiple Locations Share Actual Bonus Amounts

Online reports indicate that a Level 3 employee in Shanghai received RMB 11,070, while peers at the Fuding facility—benefiting from performance multipliers—received either RMB 3,977 or RMB 9,651 at the same grade level. Notably, an employee who joined in December of last year received only RMB 11, highlighting the dual impact of tenure and performance.

Strategic Rationale: Reinforcing Performance Orientation and Retaining Core Talent

Earlier this year, the company implemented a universal monthly salary increase of RMB 150 for employees at Levels 1–6. The year-end bonus structure continues the principle of “greater output, greater reward,” with a clear emphasis on high performers and employees in critical technical roles.
