Wang Chuanfu: BYD to Become World's Top Automaker Within Five Years

[Corporate Strategy] Wang Chuanfu responded to claims that BYD’s stock is undervalued, stating the company will become the world’s largest automaker within five years.

Core Development: 4.6 Million Units Sold in 2025, Ranking Sixth Globally, Aiming for the Top Within Five Years

At BYD’s 2025 annual general meeting, Wang Chuanfu noted that despite the current Hong Kong-listed share price having fallen more than 45% from its historical high, the company’s full potential has not yet been reflected in the market. He emphasized that production capacity for the second-generation Blade Battery is ramping up rapidly, with monthly sales expected to increase by 20,000–30,000 units each month through year-end.

Strategic Foundation: Dual Drivers of Technology and Overseas Expansion

Wang highlighted that strong overseas market performance and continuous advancements in ultra-fast charging and battery technologies are central to growth. Affected by adjustments to China’s purchase tax policy, domestic new energy vehicle (NEV) penetration briefly dipped to 38.6% in January but rebounded to 44.9% in February, with the company’s operational metrics gradually recovering.

Industry Impact: Reaffirming Long-Term Confidence Amid Price Wars

Facing intense competition and short-term market volatility, Wang urged shareholders to remain patient and pledged that “we will definitely deliver better returns,” underscoring the strategic resolve of a leading automaker during this industry reshuffling period.
