BYD Tang Surpasses 30,000 Orders Within 24 Hours

[New Vehicle Launch] BYD Dynasty Network's flagship SUV, the Tang, has exceeded 30,000 pre-orders within 24 hours of its launch.

Core Development: Pre-sale pricing significantly below expectations, directly targeting premium competitors

The new model is offered in three variants (800 km RWD, 950 km RWD, and 850 km AWD), with a pre-sale price range of RMB 250,000–320,000—substantially lower than the market’s prior expectation of a starting price above RMB 300,000. This redefines the entry point for D-segment all-electric SUVs into the RMB 250,000 bracket. Its hardware specifications rival those of premium models such as the Li L9 and AITO M9, which are priced between RMB 400,000 and RMB 500,000.

Strategic Foundation: Disrupting the premium EV market with high value-for-money

Equipped with second-generation Blade Battery, a full-domain 1000V high-voltage architecture, and ultra-fast charging technology, the vehicle is positioned as a three-row large SUV with a wheelbase of 3130 mm. Analysts note that this aggressive pricing not only pressures competitors but may also create internal competition with BYD’s own Tang L. The vehicle is scheduled to officially launch in May 2026, with production and delivery capacity becoming the next key focus.
