[Global Expansion] BYD has raised its 2026 vehicle export target to 1.5 million units, a 15% increase from its original goal.
Core Development: Significant Export Target Increase to Counter Domestic Pressure
During an analyst meeting, BYD management revealed that its 2026 export volume target is 1.5 million vehicles, up from the 1.3 million set in January this year. This move aims to offset declining domestic sales and sustain growth momentum through overseas markets.
Key Metrics: Overseas Sales Surpass One Million with Balanced Regional Distribution
Overseas sales exceeded one million units in 2025, with Europe, North America, and ASEAN each accounting for approximately one-third. In the same period, BYD’s global sales of battery electric passenger vehicles reached 2.2567 million units, solidifying its position as the world leader.
Strategic Foundation: Dual Drivers of Localized Production and Ultra-Fast Charging Technology
To circumvent trade barriers, BYD is accelerating factory construction in Brazil, Hungary, and Southeast Asia. Simultaneously, it has launched a next-generation ultra-fast charging system capable of recharging to 70% in just five minutes, with plans to roll out fast-charging stations overseas starting in 2027.
