Bosch Launches Trial Production at Its First U.S. Semiconductor Fab

Key Move: $2 Billion Facility Focused on Automotive Silicon Carbide Chips

Bosch's semiconductor facility in Roseville, California, has entered the trial production phase. The plant was acquired and retrofitted from TSI Semiconductors in 2023, with a total investment of $2 billion, including $225 million in dedicated grant funding from the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Strategic Foundation: Strengthening North America’s Automotive Chip Supply Chain

The factory is scheduled to begin commercial mass production in late 2026, primarily manufacturing silicon carbide chips to support core components for electric vehicles and intelligent mobility solutions. Bosch also plans to invest up to $7.5 billion in the U.S. by 2031, deepening its local footprint.
