XPeng's Fully In-House Developed Robotaxi Rolls Off Production Line

[New Vehicle Launch] The first production unit of XPeng's fully in-house developed Robotaxi has rolled off the assembly line in Guangzhou, with pilot operations scheduled to commence in the second half of the year.

Core Development: China's First Mass-Produced, Vision-Only, Pre-Installed Robotaxi Becomes Reality

XPeng Robotaxi is built on the flagship GX model, operating without LiDAR or high-definition maps. It leverages a pure vision-based solution powered by the second-generation VLA large model to achieve Level 4 autonomous driving capabilities. The vehicle is equipped with four self-developed Turing AI chips, delivering a total computing power of 3,000 TOPS.

Strategic Foundation: Accelerating a Closed-Loop Mobility Ecosystem Integrating "Shared + Personal" Mobility

XPeng relaunched its Robotaxi initiative in 2026, planning to unveil three Robotaxi models within the year. The company has also formed a global ecosystem partnership with Amap, opening up SDK interfaces. In January, XPeng obtained Guangzhou’s L4 public road testing permit, and in March, it established a dedicated Robotaxi Business Unit to oversee end-to-end R&D and operations.

Industry Impact: Automaker-Led Commercialization of Robotaxi Gains Momentum

As China’s first automaker-developed, fully in-house engineered, and pre-installed mass-produced Robotaxi, its launch marks a pivotal shift of autonomous driving from technical validation to large-scale commercial deployment, catalyzing a transformation in intelligent mobility models.
