Xiaomi Pengcheng N90 Unveiled, Targeting the Family-Oriented Extended-Range SUV Market
[New Product Launch] Xiaomi has introduced a new sub-brand, 'Pengcheng,' with its first full-size extended-range SUV, the N90, revealed through official images.
Core Strategy: Diverging from Pure EVs to Enter the Family SUV Segment
Departing from the high-performance pure-electric approach of the SU7 and YU7, Xiaomi is now targeting family users with the N90, featuring extended-range powertrain + seven-seat spacious interior. Built on Xiaomi's proprietary Kunlun architecture, the vehicle offers a full-length sliding rail and a flat floor, enabling versatile configurations such as 180-degree front seat rotation and face-to-face meeting modes.
Key Specifications: 5285mm Length and Over 1000km Total Range
The N90 measures 5285mm in length with a wheelbase of 3080mm. It is equipped with a 1.5T range extender and a 76kWh battery pack, delivering a CLTC pure-electric range of 370km and a combined range exceeding 1000km. Alongside the N90, an additional mid-to-large five-seat SUV, the N70, was also unveiled, forming a dual-model offensive.
Strategic Rationale: Betting on Family Demand During the Extended-Range Transition Period
At a time when pure EV adoption has just surpassed that of internal combustion engine vehicles, Xiaomi is entering the competitive extended-range market by emphasizing reconfigurable interior space and outdoor camping capabilities. The move directly targets the core user base of rivals like the Li L9 and Aito M9, aiming to replicate the Redmi-style high-value-for-money strategy.
