Xiaomi Auto Appoints Two New Executives to Accelerate EV Development

[Personnel Appointment] Xiaomi Auto has established the role of CTO, with Hu Zhengnan and Song Gang assuming new positions.

Key Moves: Hu Zhengnan as CTO of Automotive Division, Song Gang as Chief of Staff

Hu Zhengnan has been appointed Vice President of Xiaomi Group and CTO of the Automotive Division—a newly created position for Xiaomi Auto. He previously served as President of Geely Research Institute, where he led the development of the Boyue SUV and the SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture). He also participated as a consultant in the development of the SU7 and YU9.

Song Gang has been appointed Vice President of Xiaomi Auto and Chief of Staff. Prior to joining Xiaomi, he was Vice President of Manufacturing at Tesla's Gigafactory Shanghai, where he spearheaded production ramp-up and earned the nickname "Ace Factory Manager." His career includes roles at General Motors, Ford, and Envision Energy. He officially joined Xiaomi on December 23, 2024.
