Hu Zhengnan has been named Vice President of Xiaomi Group and CTO of the Automotive Division, overseeing technical strategy and R&D management, reporting directly to Lei Jun. Additionally, Song Gang has been appointed Vice President of the Automotive Division and Chief of Staff, supporting strategic coordination.

Hu Zhengnan brings nearly 30 years of automotive engineering experience, having led the development of Geely’s CMA/BMA/SEA architectures and contributed to the development of models such as the BYD F3 and Haval H6. Since 2021, he has served as a consultant deeply involved in the Xiaomi SU7 project and is regarded as the technical “cornerstone.” The creation of the CTO role and a Chief of Staff office signals Xiaomi Auto’s entry into a new phase of systematic, structured R&D.
