Hu Zhengnan has been named Vice President of Xiaomi Group and CTO of the Automotive Division, overseeing technical strategy and R&D management, reporting directly to Lei Jun. Hu Zhengnan brings nearly 30 years of automotive engineering experience, having led the development of Geely’s CMA/BMA/SEA architectures and contributed to the development of models such as the BYD F3 and Haval H6. Since 2021, he has served as a consultant deeply involved in the Xiaomi SU7 project and is regarded as the technical “cornerstone.” The creation of the CTO role and a Chief of Staff office signals Xiaomi Auto’s entry into a new phase of systematic, structured R&D.
