[Technology Strategy] Volkswagen Group China has designated 2026 as the 'Year of Delivery,' with its first self-developed CEA architecture-based model, the 'ID. Unyx 07,' scheduled for mass production by the end of 2025.

Core Development: Rebuilding Local Technical Infrastructure in 18 Months

Volkswagen Group China has accelerated the development of a localized electronic and electrical (E/E) architecture within just 18 months, positioning the CEA architecture as the cornerstone of its 'In China, For China' strategy. This architecture not only supports the launch of more than 10 new energy vehicle models, but also restructures Volkswagen’s R&D decision-making mechanism in China, granting greater technical authority to its local Chinese teams.

Strategic Foundation: Billions Invested and Local Collaboration Deliver Results

Since 2020, Volkswagen has invested a cumulative total of 15 billion euros (approximately RMB 123.174 billion) in China and established deep partnerships with companies such as XPeng and Horizon Robotics. The mass production of vehicles based on the CEA architecture marks a critical transition from joint-venture manufacturing to localized in-house R&D, aiming to transform market pressures in China into a global innovation driver.
