TMD Friction Establishes China Headquarters in Pinghu, Zhejiang

[Corporate Layout] German TMD Friction Group has officially established its China headquarters and Asia R&D center in Pinghu, Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province.

Key Development: Production to Begin Mid-2026, Focused on New Energy Vehicle Braking Systems

TMD Friction plans to commence construction in April 2026 and start production by mid-year, building an integrated facility combining R&D, management, and manufacturing, dedicated to developing high-end brake pads tailored for Asian road conditions and new energy vehicles.

Key Metrics: Annual Output Value Exceeding RMB 1 Billion, Strengthening Regional Industrial Chain

Upon reaching full capacity, the project is expected to generate an annual output value of over RMB 1 billion, joining Pinghu’s existing new energy vehicle components industrial cluster valued at RMB 30 billion, which comprises approximately 150 upstream and downstream enterprises, supporting coordinated development of "complete vehicles + core components."

Strategic Foundation: Anchoring the Yangtze River Delta, Advancing Smart-by-Wire Chassis Ecosystem

Located at the heart of the one-hour transportation circle connecting Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou, and Ningbo, and complementing TMD Friction’s existing facilities in Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Shijiazhuang, this move into Pinghu will serve as a strategic pivot for deepening its presence in the Chinese market and accelerating intelligent upgrades in the regional smart-by-wire chassis segment.
