Stellantis and Dongfeng Deepen Partnership to Relaunch Local Jeep Production

[Corporate Collaboration] Stellantis and Dongfeng Motor Corporation have signed an agreement to relaunch locally produced Jeep vehicles and jointly develop new energy vehicle (NEV) models.

Core Development: Electric Jeeps and New Peugeots to Roll Off Wuhan Assembly Lines from 2027

Stellantis and Dongfeng Motor Group announced on May 15, 2026, a deepened partnership under which, starting in 2027, the Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroën (DPCA) Wuhan plant will produce two new energy off-road SUVs under the Jeep brand and two all-new NEV models under the Peugeot brand. These new models will be developed based on Peugeot’s design language unveiled at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, targeting both Chinese and overseas markets.

Key Figures: Over RMB 8 Billion Invested in DPCA

Both parties, together with local capital, will inject over RMB 8 billion (approximately EUR 1 billion) into Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroën Automobile (DPCA). Stellantis will contribute approximately EUR 130 million (around RMB 1 billion), aiming to revitalize its French-brand joint venture operations and accelerate its electrification transformation.

Strategic Foundation: Leveraging China's Supply Chain to Strengthen Global Footprint

This collaboration underscores Stellantis’ strong reliance on China’s manufacturing capabilities and market potential. Localized production will reduce costs and enhance responsiveness, while simultaneously supporting the implementation of Stellantis’ global new energy strategy.
