[Company News] Renault will take full ownership of the electric light commercial vehicle joint venture Flexis, accelerating its electrification strategy.

Key Development: Renault to Fully Own Flexis; First Model to Enter Production by End of 2026

Groupe Renault has signed a binding agreement to acquire the 45% stake held by Volvo Group and the 10% stake held by CMA CGM Group, achieving 100% ownership of Flexis SAS. The transaction is subject to antitrust approvals and is expected to close in the first half of 2026.

Key Specifications: 800V Platform and Three-Model Lineup

Flexis is built on an 800V electrical architecture, enabling charging from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes. The first model, the Trafic Van E-Tech, will enter production at the Sandouville plant by the end of 2026, with two additional van models under concurrent development. The project currently employs approximately 1,300 people.

Strategic Foundation: Strengthening Local Manufacturing and Software-Defined Capabilities

Renault emphasized that the governance change will not affect the original plans, and the project will remain deeply rooted in France. Volvo will transition to a distribution partner role. Flexis will leverage a skateboard chassis and a software-defined vehicle architecture to deliver intelligent electric solutions tailored for logistics applications.
