Recently, on December 23, 2025, the Porsche Centre Zhongyuan in Zhengzhou suddenly closed its doors. Showroom vehicles were cleared out, and management went off the grid, preventing customers from taking delivery of their cars or reclaiming deposits. Some buyers who had already taken possession of their vehicles even failed to receive the Certificate of Conformity, leaving them unable to register their cars or continue loan repayments. Affected amounts range from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of yuan. Employees have also had their wages withheld for three months.

šŸ” Strategic Context: Declining Sales Force Channel Consolidation

Porsche China has publicly apologized, stating it is working with police and relevant authorities to investigate the incident and vowing to ā€œprioritize consumers’ legitimate rights and interests.ā€ Notably, Porsche’s sales volume in China has been continuously declining—delivering 56,900 vehicles in 2024, and only 32,200 units in the first three quarters of 2025, a year-on-year drop of 26%. The company plans to reduce its nationwide dealership network to approximately 100 outlets by the end of 2026, having already closed 23 dealerships this year.
