In April 2026, national passenger vehicle retail sales totaled 1.384 million units, of which 849,000 were new energy vehicles, achieving a penetration rate of 61.4%—a historic milestone surpassing the 60% threshold. ICE vehicle retail sales amounted to just 530,000 units, plunging 37% year-over-year.
Core Trend: Top 19 Best-Sellers Are All New Energy Vehicles
The sales leader was Geely Xingyuan (34,727 units), followed by Xiaomi SU7, Model Y, Li Auto i6, and others ranking second through tenth. Only the Binrui (14,923 units) remained as a pure ICE model. This ranking highlights that the market bifurcation between electric and fuel-powered vehicles has solidified.
