[Policy Update] On May 26, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) issued the 'Key Points for Automotive Standardization Work in 2026,' outlining 15 priority tasks across four key areas.

Core Initiatives: Focusing on Four Actions to Build a High-Quality Standards System

  Advance four major actions: enhancing quality and safety standards, refreshing green and low-carbon standards, leading standard development in emerging fields, and preliminary research on future technology standards.

  Complete the formulation of the automotive industry's 15th Five-Year Plan technical standards system construction plan, strengthening standardization efforts in key areas including intelligent and connected vehicles, automotive chips, new energy vehicles, and low-carbon development.

Strategic Foundation: Driving Industrial Upgrading and International Collaboration Through Standards

  Conduct standardization research in cutting-edge areas such as solid-state batteries for vehicles, artificial intelligence in automobiles, and data governance, and promote pilot programs for transforming standards from promotion to strength ('Promote-to-Strengthen' pilots).
