Mercedes-Benz May Revive the S-Class Coupe Based on Vision Iconic Concept

[New Vehicle Update] The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe, discontinued three years ago, could be revived based on the Vision Iconic concept car.

Core Development: S-Class Two-Door Coupe Poised for Return

The S-Class Coupe (C217), discontinued in 2020, may soon see a successor. New renderings released by Russian media outlet Kolesa.ru blend the design language of the Vision Iconic concept car with classic grand tourer proportions. The front fascia features an illuminated large grille, reinstating the iconic three-pointed star emblem at its center, while the headlights adopt a minimalist design incorporating the brand’s logo. The body retains a long hood and sharp silhouette, and the rear is highlighted by slender LED light strips for enhanced recognition.

Strategic Foundation: Continuing the Legacy of Flagship Coupes

Since the debut of the S-Class in 1972, its two-door variant evolved through the CL naming phase (1992–2013) before rejoining the S-Class lineup in 2014. Although the current S-Class has just undergone a mid-cycle refresh, Mercedes-Benz is already planning next-generation flagship derivatives, underscoring its continued commitment to the premium personalized vehicle segment.
