Mercedes-Benz Officially Cuts Prices on Multiple Models by Up to RMB 69,000
[Market Update] Mercedes-Benz has reduced the official manufacturer-suggested retail prices (MSRP) for the C-Class, GLB, GLC, and GLC Coupe SUVs, with maximum reductions reaching RMB 69,000.
Core Development: 10% Price Cut Eases Channel Pressure
The C-Class sees price reductions ranging from RMB 33,700 to RMB 38,500, with the adjusted starting price now at RMB 304,600. The entire GLB lineup receives a uniform RMB 38,000 cut, lowering its starting price to RMB 273,900. The GLC series is discounted by RMB 48,000 to RMB 62,500, while the GLC Coupe achieves the highest reduction of RMB 68,200. Additionally, the C 260 L Avantgarde model has been discontinued.
Key Metrics: Declining Sales and Mounting Inventory Pressure
In 2025, Mercedes-Benz delivered 575,000 vehicles in China, a year-over-year decline of 19%; global sales dropped by 9%. Domestic Chinese NEV competitors such as the Aito M8 and Li Auto L7 have captured over 35% of Mercedes-Benz’s former market share in China. Dealer inventory levels have far exceeded warning thresholds, creating urgent demand for liquidity relief.
Industry Impact: Traditional Luxury Brands Accelerate Price Wars
Although this price adjustment does not alter vehicle specifications, it reflects the defensive stance of premium ICE brands amid the ongoing electrification wave. Further terminal discounts are expected to widen in the near future.
