Hyundai IONIQ Enters China with Two Concept Vehicles

[New Brand Entry in China] Hyundai Motor's electric sub-brand IONIQ has officially entered the Chinese market, unveiling two new energy concept vehicles—VENUS CONCEPT and EARTH CONCEPT—for their global premiere.

Core Direction: Rejecting Homogenized Design, Embracing a 'Rebellious Edge'

IONIQ champions the philosophy of “Lead, don’t follow,” with development led by its China-based design team. The brand adopts a polygonal crystalline design language to break away from the prevailing trend of rounded, generic EV aesthetics. The VENUS CONCEPT stands out with its shimmering gold finish, monobox body structure, and lightweight forged wheels.

Strategic Foundation: Building a Planet-Named Ecosystem

Future IONIQ products in China will be named after planets in the solar system. Local production will be realized through Beijing Hyundai, implementing the “In China, For China, To Global” strategy. By integrating the E-GMP pure electric platform with China’s advanced manufacturing capabilities, IONIQ aims to strengthen its global offerings.
