GAC GOVY AirCab Secures $460 Million in Orders
[New Model Launch] GAC GOVY’s flying car, AirCab, has secured意向 orders for over 2,000 units, totaling RMB 3.3 billion (approximately $460 million).
Core Development: Domestic eVTOL Moves Toward Mass Production
The GOVY AirCab has entered the comprehensive airworthiness certification phase and is expected to obtain full certification by the end of 2026, followed by initial deliveries—marking the transition of China-made flying cars from validation to commercialization.
Key Specifications: Lightweight Design and Advanced Autonomous Driving
The airframe uses 90% aerospace-grade carbon fiber composites, reducing weight by over 30%. It features an L4 autonomous driving system with computing power exceeding 500 TOPS, supports 25-minute fast charging, offers a range of 30 kilometers, and achieves a cruise speed of 120 km/h.
Strategic Focus: Low-Altitude Tourism and Short-Distance Commuting
Priced below RMB 1.68 million, it undercuts competing models and targets low-altitude sightseeing and urban air mobility scenarios. It includes redundant flight control systems, cloud-based self-diagnostics, and multiple safety mechanisms to ensure safe flight even in the event of a single-point failure.
