FREELANDER Debuts Globally on March 31 with First Large Six-Seat Electric SUV
[Brand Launch] FREELANDER will unveil its global brand strategy and its first large six-seat electric SUV in Shanghai on March 31.
Core Development: Chery and Jaguar Land Rover Jointly Establish an Independent New Energy Brand
In June 2024, Chery Automobile and Jaguar Land Rover signed a strategic cooperation letter of intent to relaunch Freelander—originally a classic Land Rover off-road series—as an independently operated, global intelligent electric vehicle brand under the model of "Chinese technology + global brand." The first model, exceeding 5.1 meters in length, will be produced at the Chery Jaguar Land Rover Changshu Plant.
Key Metrics: 60 Stores, Over 80% Luxury Dealers
The brand has already signed agreements for over 60 stores across 50 cities nationwide, with top-100 dealers accounting for nearly 70% and luxury brand dealers exceeding 80%. The first global experience center will be located at Suzhou Center, with rapid progress in channel development.
Strategic Foundation: Independent Operation for Mutual Benefits
The new brand is neither part of Jaguar Land Rover's four main vehicle series nor aligned with Chery’s existing product lines. It aims to integrate the strengths of both parties through independent operations, accelerating electrification and global expansion.
