[Company News] Foxconn's New Energy Vehicle R&D Center has officially commenced operations at Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone, with a total investment of RMB 1 billion.

Core Development: New Vehicle Development Cycle Reduced to 24 Months

Foxconn has shortened the new vehicle development cycle from the industry average of 36 months to 24 months through integrated digital R&D and smart factory collaboration. The center, established by Foxconn New Energy Vehicle Industry Development (Henan) Co., Ltd., focuses on product planning, platform development, and whole-vehicle manufacturing.

Strategic Foundation: Dual-Core Drive Strengthens Regional Industrial Clusters

Located in Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone and adjacent to BYD’s Zhengzhou plant, the site facilitates supply chain synergy. This move aligns with Henan Province’s goal of achieving 1.5 million new energy vehicles annual production capacity by 2025 and building a RMB 300 billion-level industrial cluster, fostering a dual-core ecosystem centered around Foxconn and BYD in Zhengzhou.

Industry Impact: Accelerating High-End Manufacturing Transformation and Ecosystem Agglomeration

The project is generating high-end employment opportunities and attracting upstream and downstream enterprises specializing in solid-state batteries and embodied intelligent robots, propelling Henan toward becoming a RMB 100 billion-class hub for new energy vehicle manufacturing.
