Ferrari's First All-Electric Sports Car Named Luce, Featuring Interior by Jony Ive

#Legacy Automaker EV Transitions#Automotive Industry

[New Vehicle Launch] Ferrari's first all-electric sports car has been named Luce, with its cabin designed by the former Apple design visionary.

Core Development: Jony Ive Returns to Physical Interaction

The interior of Ferrari’s first all-electric model, Luce (Italian for "light"), is led by design firm LoveFrom, founded by Jony Ive. Departing from the minimalist touchscreen logic of the iPhone, Ive reintroduces physical buttons and metal toggle switches in the Luce cockpit to emphasize tangible control experiences. The steering wheel is crafted from 100% recycled aluminum alloy, reducing weight by 400 grams.

Strategic Foundation: Electrification Is a Means, Not an End

Ferrari has clearly stated that electrification is merely a tool to achieve the essence of driving. From the project’s inception, creative leadership was granted to an external team, with Chairman John Elkann and CEO Benedetto Vigna deeply involved throughout.

Key Timeline: Exterior Reveal in May 2026, Deliveries Begin in October

The vehicle’s exterior will be officially unveiled in Italy in May 2026, with initial customer deliveries commencing in October of the same year.
