[Market Dynamics] The February 2026 SUV sales ranking underwent a dramatic reshuffle. The Tesla Model Y surged to a clear lead with 25,286 units sold, while Xiaomi YU7’s sales plummeted 46.6% month-over-month to 20,196 units.

Key Trends: BEVs Surge, Extended-Range EVs Retreat

The Tesla Model Y claimed the top spot thanks to accelerated deliveries and price reductions, becoming the only SUV to surpass 25,000 units in sales. Despite its steep decline, the Xiaomi YU7 held onto second place—but by only a few hundred units ahead of the Boyue L. Four models that ranked in the top ten last month, including the Aito M7 and Xingyue L, dropped out of the chart entirely.

Key Data: Product Divergence Intensifies

Li Auto is experiencing severe internal competition—its Li Auto i6 (BEV) jumped to 4th place, while the L7 and L8 both fell out of the top 50. The Binyue led the pack in the 20th–60th range with 6,834 units sold, and Deepal’s dual-model strategy with the S07 and S05 is beginning to show results.

Industry Impact: Matthew Effect Becomes Pronounced

Fuel-powered SUVs like the Tiguan L (7th) and Encore maintained their mid-tier positions, but former bestsellers such as the CR-V and Highlander have slipped significantly. Niche models like the BJ80 sold just one unit for the entire month, highlighting the market’s accelerating consolidation.
