#Legacy Automaker EV Transitions#Chinese Automaker Global Expansion and Competition

[Personnel Change] Dong XiuHui has assumed the role of General Manager at FAW-Volkswagen, succeeding Chen Bin, who returns to the FAW Group to oversee large-scale marketing and export operations.

⚡ Core Development: Comprehensive Leadership Restructuring

Dong XiuHui has officially taken office as Party Secretary and General Manager of FAW-Volkswagen. He previously led FAW-Volkswagen’s sales division from 2015 to 2020 and, during his tenure at FAW Toyota, achieved annual sales targets of 800,000 units for two consecutive years. Former General Manager Chen Bin, after completing exactly one year in the role, has returned to China FAW Group to focus on integrated marketing, brand building, and export business.

📊 Key Metrics: Sales Pressure Drives Organizational Shift

From January to November 2025, FAW-Volkswagen recorded cumulative sales of 1.31 million units, a year-on-year decline of 11%, significantly falling short of its 2024 target of 1.6591 million units. Achieving the required 350,000 units in December appears nearly impossible. Nevertheless, in October 2025, the company became the first passenger vehicle manufacturer in China to surpass 30 million units in cumulative production and sales.

🔍 Strategic Foundation: Strengthening Localization and Systemic Synergy

Concurrently, Nie Qiang has been reassigned as Deputy General Manager of FAW Toyota; Jiang Wenhu has taken over as President of the R&D Institute; and Liu Changqing has shifted focus to strategic investment. This round of personnel appointments underscores FAW Group’s intensified emphasis on electrification transformation, supply chain resilience, and restructuring of the marketing system.
