FAW Launches Independent New Energy Brand Yueyi Targeting Mainstream Family Market

[Brand Launch] On May 29, China FAW officially unveiled its first independent new energy brand, 'Yueyi,' targeting the mainstream family vehicle market priced between RMB 100,000 and 150,000.

Core Development: Yueyi Upgraded from Product Line to Independent Brand

Originally a new energy product line under Bestune, Yueyi has now been elevated to an independent passenger vehicle brand alongside Hongqi and Bestune, becoming FAW’s first independently operated pure new energy brand. The brand emphasizes “state-owned enterprise quality and tech-enabled family joy,” aiming at young families.

Key Specifications: First Model Starts at RMB 104,900

The flagship model, Yueyi 08, has simultaneously opened for pre-orders, offering six variants covering both battery electric and extended-range powertrains, with a pre-order price range of RMB 104,900 to 144,900. Deliveries are scheduled within this year. The vehicle is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip and LiDAR, positioning it as a B+-segment smart coupe.

Strategic Foundation: Capturing the Mainstream New Energy Market

In the highly competitive RMB 100,000–150,000 price segment, FAW leverages Yueyi to simultaneously drive brand penetration into mass markets and accelerate its electrification transformation. The second half of the year will be critical for channel expansion and market validation.
