EXEED ET5 Officially Announces a Price Increase of RMB 5,000
[Price Adjustment] The high-end variant of the EXEED ET5 has increased in price by RMB 5,000, making Chery the first automaker in 2026 to raise vehicle prices against the prevailing market trend.
Key Development: Advanced Intelligent Driving Features Shifted to Paid Package
The official manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) for the EXEED ET5 210 LiDAR Prestige Edition has been raised from RMB 159,900 to RMB 164,900, with a super trade-in price of RMB 154,900. The core reason for this adjustment is the transition of previously complimentary advanced intelligent driving features into an optional package priced at RMB 5,000, which is part of a larger bundle valued at RMB 28,800. This package includes the Horizon Robotics Journey® 6P chip, the Hawk 700 Advanced Intelligent Driving System, and lifetime OTA update services.
Strategic Rationale: Balancing Cost Pressures with Long-Term Vision
EXEED stated that the primary driver behind the price hike is the sharp rise in supply chain costs—particularly automotive-grade chips, with DRAM prices surging by 180% over the past three months. However, the company emphasized that this move also reflects a deliberate strategic choice to reject price wars and ensure sustainable investment in R&D and customer service.
