Key Development: Firmly Curb Disorderly 'Price Wars' in the New Energy Vehicle Sector
On January 14, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the State Administration for Market Regulation jointly convened a symposium with enterprises in the new energy vehicle industry. Seventeen key automakers and the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) attended the meeting. The meeting explicitly required adherence to innovation-driven development and quality-first principles, prohibiting low-price competition that compromises product quality.
Strategic Foundation: Strengthening Dual Drivers of Regulatory Oversight and Industry Self-Discipline
The three departments will enhance cost investigations, price monitoring, and production consistency inspections, taking legal action against non-compliant companies. CAAM stated it will guide enterprises toward rational competition, preventing them from falling into low-level price-driven internal competition, thereby safeguarding the long-term interests of both consumers and the industry.
