Developed under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), this standard specifies safety requirements for combined driving assistance systems in both lateral and longitudinal vehicle control, applicable to driver-assist functions that operate under continuous driver supervision.

As of 2026, the penetration rate of combined driving assistance systems in new passenger vehicles in China has reached 70%, with over 30% of these models featuring Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) capabilities. The release of this standard coincides precisely with the industry’s rapid growth phase.
