China Association of Automobile Manufacturers Advances Quality and Reliability of New Energy Vehicles

[Policy Update] Ye Shengji, Chief Engineer of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), emphasized that enhancing the quality and reliability of new energy vehicles (NEVs) is a critical step in solidifying China's competitive edge in intelligent connected NEVs.

Key Development: Special Initiative Shows Positive Progress After One Year

In June last year, the launch meeting for the Special Project on Quality and Reliability of New Energy Vehicles was held in Beijing, with CAAM organizing industry stakeholders to comprehensively advance related efforts. Participants at the 2024 China Automotive T10 Summit unanimously agreed that advancing this initiative is “timely and essential.”

Strategic Foundation: Benchmarking Global Standards to Address Reliability Gaps

Ye Shengji noted that this move aims to implement the "National Outline for Building a Quality-Oriented Country" and the "Guiding Opinions on Enhancing Reliability in Manufacturing," jointly issued in 2023 by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and four other government departments. The initiative focuses on key sectors such as automotive manufacturing, benchmarking against international best practices to address shortcomings in the reliability of foundational products.
