[Company Clarification] BYD explicitly denied plans to launch a flying car, stating that related rumors are false information.

⚡ Key Development: Li Yunfei Personally Debunks Rumor; BYD Has No Flying Car Plans

On December 29, Li Yunfei, General Manager of BYD Group’s Brand and Public Relations Department, clarified on Weibo that online rumors claiming 'BYD will launch a flying car' are unfounded, emphasizing that the company has 'no such plans or arrangements.' BYD’s News Anti-Fake Office also reposted and confirmed this statement.

🔍 Strategic Foundation: Focused on Core Business, Temporarily Avoiding Low-Altitude Economy

Despite automakers like Xpeng HT, GAC Gaoyu, and the Changan-EHang joint venture accelerating their entry into the eVTOL sector, BYD has chosen restraint and is not entering the flying car race. Li Yunfei urged the public to 'remain rational amid the noise of online traffic.'

💡 Industry Impact: Low-Altitude Economy Heats Up, But Not All Automakers Are Joining In

Currently, several Chinese自主品牌 (domestic brands) have advanced toward mass production of flying cars. For example, GAC Gaoyu expects to obtain certification and begin deliveries by the end of 2026, while Xpeng aims to mass-produce its integrated 'car + aircraft' product in the same year. BYD, however, has clearly drawn a line, highlighting a divergence in strategic direction among automakers.
