[Company News] BorgWarner's Ningbo campus marks its 20th anniversary of production, highlighting the success of its "In China, For Global" strategy.

Core Development: China as the Heart of BorgWarner’s Global Strategy

In 2025, BorgWarner achieved global revenue of $14.3 billion, with 20.7% ($2.968 billion) generated from China—75% of which came from domestic Chinese automakers. Of the $2.6 billion in electrification product revenue, the vast majority also originated from the Chinese market and local teams.

Key Metrics: Deepening Local Footprint

BorgWarner currently operates 17 facilities in China, including 10 wholly owned companies and 7 joint-venture plants, employing a total of 7,200 people. Since commencing operations in 2006, the Ningbo campus has produced over 25 million turbochargers and more than 20 million timing chains annually.

Strategic Foundation: Upgrading from Manufacturing to R&D

Since entering China in 1993, BorgWarner has progressively shifted from technology importation to localized, customized development. In 2009, it established the China Technical Center (CTC), and the Ningbo campus has since become a key R&D and manufacturing hub for timing chain systems and turbochargers.
