[Executive Engagement] Dr. Puster, BMW Group Board Member for Development, led a top-level technical team on an unannounced visit to Great Wall Motor, engaging in in-depth discussions.
Core Development: Highest-Level Technical Visit in History
On March 31, Dr. Puster, BMW Group’s Board Member for Development, arrived at Great Wall Motor’s headquarters in Baoding accompanied by at least five senior executives at the vice president level or above, including BMW China’s CTO and the Senior Vice President overseeing high-voltage batteries and charging systems. This marks the highest-level and most comprehensive technical delegation BMW has ever sent to its Chinese partner.
Key Details: Intensive Test Drives and Closed-Door Meetings
The delegation toured the Xushui Plant and technical center, followed by test drives of models including the WEY V9X and Tank 700. Dr. Puster personally experienced the V9X’s urban NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) functionality. Subsequently, he held a one-hour closed-door meeting with Wei Jianjun, the content of which remains undisclosed but has sparked widespread speculation.
