BMW to Roll Out New Logo Across Entire Model Lineup in 2026

#Legacy Automaker EV Transitions

[Brand Refresh] BMW is updating its physical vehicle emblem for the first time since 1997, with all models adopting the new logo uniformly starting February 2026.

Key Changes: Elimination of Chrome and Powertrain Differentiation, Embracing Minimalism

The new logo removes the inner chrome ring and the chrome outline around the blue-and-white segments. The outer ring transitions from a glossy finish to a matte satin surface, while the saturation of the blue-and-white color scheme is enhanced, resulting in a flatter, more modern appearance. The letters “BMW” have been meticulously refined to exhibit a watch-grade luster and texture, with the white areas brought closer to the outer ring while retaining a subtle embossed tactile feel.

Strategic Foundation: Electrification Integrated into Core Product Lines

Gasoline, all-electric, and plug-in hybrid models will now share a unified badge, eliminating the previous light-blue outer ring used to distinguish new-energy vehicles. This move signifies the full integration of electric products into BMW’s core lineup. This marks BMW’s seventh-generation emblem and represents the most significant physical badge update in nearly 29 years.
