Bentley Unveils Torcal: Its First All-Electric SUV Targeting Premium Urban Drivers

[New Vehicle Launch] Bentley's first all-electric SUV has been named 'Torcal' and will make its global debut on September 23.

Core Strategy: Positioned Below Bentayga, Targeting Premium Urban Market

Torcal will premiere in London on September 23, becoming Bentley’s fourth model line. Positioned below the Bentayga, it is built on the PPE platform and is expected to be priced between USD 200,000–250,000 (approximately RMB 1.36–1.7 million).

Strategic Foundation: Name and Design Blend Nature with Performance Heritage

The name draws inspiration from Spain’s Torcal Natural Reserve and the Latin word “torquere” (meaning “to twist”), echoing the term “torque” and symbolizing confident forward motion. Exterior features include a blacked-out logo, matte paint finish, and artistic lighting elements. The interior retains Bentley’s signature wood craftsmanship while introducing a curved-screen design.

Industry Impact: Accelerating Electrification Among Ultra-Luxury Brands

As a pivotal move in Bentley’s electrification strategy, the Torcal marks the brand’s official transition to all-electric vehicles—carrying forward its craftsmanship legacy since 1919—and strengthens its presence in the premium electric vehicle segment.
