Apollo Go Launches Fully Driverless Operations in Dubai
[Global Expansion] Apollo Go has officially launched commercial fully driverless operations in Dubai.
Key Developments: Deploying the Largest Local Autonomous Fleet and Enabling Dual-Platform Ride-Hailing
Starting March 30, the public can access the service via the Apollo Go App, with ride requests also becoming available through the Uber App in the near future. Apollo Go has signed an exclusive agreement with Dubai’s state-owned taxi company, DTC, and has become the city's first and only fully driverless, one-stop self-operated mobility platform.
Key Metrics: Operational in 26 Cities Globally with Over 20 Million Rides Completed
Its first overseas base is now active and has received Dubai’s “License No. 001” for testing as well as the emirate’s first full driverless testing permit. Since announcing its plan in 2025 to deploy over 1,000 autonomous vehicles, the service has expanded to 26 cities, completing more than 20 million rides to date.
Strategic Foundation: Deep Integration of Technology Export and Local Ecosystem
Under the guidance of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the fleet is being rolled out in phases. During the 2026 World Government Summit, Dubai’s Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan personally experienced the service, highlighting strong government-industry collaboration in advancing autonomous driving commercialization.
