AITO M8 and Two Other New Energy SUVs Earn Top Ratings from C-IASI
[Safety Evaluation] The AITO M8, Shangjie H5, and Fangchengbao Titanium 7 all received multiple G+ ratings in the China Insurance Automotive Safety Index (C-IASI)’s fourth evaluation of 2025.
Core Highlights: All Three Vehicles Achieve Top Marks in Occupant and Assistive Safety
The AITO M8, Shangjie H5, and Fangchengbao Titanium 7 earned the highest G+ rating across all three categories: occupant safety, pedestrian safety, and vehicle assistive safety. All three models demonstrated outstanding performance in tests including 25% small overlap frontal impacts on both sides, 50% moderate overlap frontal impacts, and side collisions. Additionally, AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking) and E-call functions are 100% standard across these models.
Key Metrics: Repairability and Cost Efficiency – Two Excellent, One Good
In terms of crashworthiness and repair cost efficiency, the AITO M8 and Shangjie H5 received an Excellent (G) rating, while the Fangchengbao Titanium 7 earned a Good (A) rating. All three vehicles received bonus points for low-speed active safety performance, and all achieved a G rating in the new energy-specific evaluation of electric powertrain safety (battery, motor, and electronics).
Strategic Insight: Enhanced Safety Drives Down Insurance Costs
The evaluation followed the strictest 2023 testing protocol, with base-trim models randomly selected from those available on the market. The improved repair cost efficiency of the AITO M8 and Shangjie H5 is expected to reduce consumers’ auto insurance premiums, marking a strategic shift for new energy SUVs—from merely “adequate” safety to comprehensively “excellent+” standards.
